Designing an Arabic Speaking and Listening Skills E- Course: Resources, Activities and Students' Perceptions

This paper presents a fully online course model for teaching speaking and listening skills students learning Arabic as foreign language at the International Peace College South Africa on NEO management platform. It also investigates students' attitudes towards course. The was developed by researcher during first semester of 2020. period coincided with Africa’s wave COVID-19, country’s strict lockdown. syllabus consists three components: listening, conversational Arabic. includes various technology-enhanced activities resources which were using LMS features, Web 2.0 tools, e-learning specifications such Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM). integration technology in is based an approach that combines Bloom's taxonomy Technology Integration Matrix (TIM). Apart from description course, this study used thirty-item questionnaire to investigate thirty-one learners who participated They answered questions about course’s resources, well its impact their skills. Results revealed respondents' positive statistically significant p < .05. design adopted can apply any context teaching. provides myriad be effectively teach virtually.
